Which Construction Estimating App Has the Best Reviews? 12 Apps Ranked by Rating (2026)
The best reviewed construction estimating app by raw App Store rating is Contractor+, at 4.8 stars from 1,870 ratings. SimplyWise Cost Estimator ties that same 4.8 badge on a sample eighteen times the size, 33,651 ratings. So we pulled the live number for all 12 and ranked them straight, decimals included.

What a best reviewed construction estimating app badge actually measures
Hunting for the best reviewed construction estimating app usually means reading one star rating and stopping there. Twelve estimating apps compete for contractors who are done sitting through a demo before they see a price. Every one of them lists a star rating on the App Store, and most list one on Google Play too. So those numbers get treated as interchangeable. They are not. A 4.8 built on 1,800 reviews is not the same claim as a 4.8 built on 33,000. Besides, the badge alone will not tell you which is which.
The badge rounds, the average underneath does not
Apple displays one decimal. The average behind it runs to five. So four apps in this set show 4.8 on the visible badge. Their actual averages, read from the same live page, spread from 4.79631 to 4.83155. Ranking on the rounded badge alone erases real separation.
Every best reviewed construction estimating app rating is a sample, not a census
Knowify shows 17 total ratings. SimplyWise Cost Estimator shows 33,651. Both are real numbers pulled live today, and both are honest. Still, they are not equally informative. A sample of 17 moves about a third of a point on three new five-star ratings. A sample in the tens of thousands barely moves.
Recency changes what a best reviewed construction estimating app rating means
An App Store average blends every rating an app has ever earned, including versions from years back. A listing that shipped a bad update in 2024 and fixed it in 2026 still carries the scar in its lifetime average. The count and the trend matter as much as the single number.

How to read ratings before you pick a best reviewed construction estimating app
So here is the order to check them in, first to last, before you trust a badge on a landing page.
-
Count vs. score
Open the App Store listing, not a screenshot of it, and read the review count next to the stars. A 4.8 from 1,800 ratings and a 4.8 from 33,000 ratings both round the same. They do not carry the same confidence. Weight the score by the count before you compare two apps.
-
Recency
Check whether the developer is still shipping. A rating with a healthy, growing count and recent version history is a live signal. Instead, a flat count on an app that has not updated in a year is a number from the past. That is not a read on the current build.
-
Platform split
iOS and Android ratings for the same app are two different populations rating two different codebases, and they are not always the same number. Contractors run both. So check both badges before you decide the app is a 4.8 everywhere it is not.
Which is the best reviewed construction estimating app? All 12, ranked
Ranked on the App Store rating and review count each app carries today, decimals included, not on the rounded badge alone. Every figure below was pulled live from the app’s own App Store or Google Play listing on September 9, 2026. The sources note the three apps with a matching Google Play listing worth reading separately.
-
1. Contractor+ Invoice & Estimate
The highest raw average in the set: 4.8 stars (4.83155 underlying) from 1,870 App Store ratings. Contractor+ runs a free forever plan, but it caps you at 5 estimates or invoices a month; unlimited estimating starts on its PRO plan at $29 a month on annual billing for one user, and the two-user PRO TEAM plan is $58 a month on annual. The rating is real and it is the best single number here, on a sample small enough that a slow month could move it.
-
2. Jobber
4.8 stars (4.80766) from 20,812 App Store ratings, plus 4.4 stars from 6,725 ratings on Google Play. Jobber is scheduling, quoting, invoicing, and payments for a service business, and its App Store count is the third largest in this set. The Android score sits meaningfully below the iOS score, which the platform split rule above exists to catch.
-
3. Handoff Construction Estimator
4.8 stars (4.80244) from 1,802 App Store ratings. Handoff is a purpose-built residential estimating and proposal app with change order support. Its rating sits a hair under Contractor+’s and on almost the same sample size, so the two are effectively tied at this precision.
-
4. SimplyWise Cost Estimator
4.8 stars (4.79631) from 33,651 App Store ratings, plus 4.7 stars from 15,030 ratings on Google Play. On the rounded badge it ties the top three. On the decimal it ranks fourth of the four 4.8s, the honest result of this method. It carries something the other three do not. A photo turns into an itemized estimate in about 6 seconds, with material quantities. On top of that, its sample is 1.6 times the size of Jobber’s and roughly 18 times the size of Contractor+’s and Handoff’s.
Pricing. $29.99/mo or $239.99/yr, about $20/mo on annual, with a 7-day free trial. One subscription opens the rest of the SimplyWise suite.
-
5. Joist: Estimate Invoice Maker
4.7 stars (4.74498) from 13,987 App Store ratings. Joist is a straightforward estimate and invoice tool built for a solo contractor on a tight budget. Its review count is the fourth largest here.
-
6. Housecall Pro
4.6 stars (4.64707) from 29,578 App Store ratings. Housecall Pro is full field service software, dispatch and booking included, and estimating is one feature inside a bigger platform. Its review count is the second largest of the 12, behind only SimplyWise’s.
-
7. Houzz Pro
4.6 stars (4.63978) from 4,911 App Store ratings. Houzz Pro is project management and client-facing proposals for remodelers, built around the Houzz design network. Note this is the separate Pro business app, not the much larger consumer Houzz app; do not confuse the two review counts.
-
8. Buildertrend
4.5 stars (4.48281) from 5,060 App Store ratings. Buildertrend runs project management, scheduling, and client communication for builders and remodelers, with estimating as one module in a larger construction management suite.
-
9. Contractor Foreman
4.3 stars (4.32176) from 547 App Store ratings. A broad, budget-priced construction management suite covering estimating, daily logs, and scheduling. The rating sits mid-pack on a sample small enough to move with a single bad release.
-
10. CoConstruct
3.0 stars (2.95045) from 222 App Store ratings. CoConstruct is custom home builder software that Buildertrend is folding into its own platform. Its homepage now leads with “The next chapter starts with Buildertrend” and states that “CoConstruct’s transition to Buildertrend is entering its final phase,” read live on September 9, 2026. The low count and the low score both fit an app whose users are being migrated off it, so read this score as a record of a product on its way out rather than a live buying option.
-
11. ServiceTitan Mobile
2.9 stars (2.94839) from 1,647 App Store ratings. ServiceTitan is enterprise field service software built around a call center and dispatch board. Its own listing puts estimate building in the technician’s hands in the field, next to dispatch, options presentation, and payment collection, so this score is a read on the tool ServiceTitan crews actually build estimates in. ServiceTitan also ships a separate Field app rated 3.4 from 4,824 App Store ratings, so read Mobile’s 2.9 as one listing among several, not a verdict on the whole platform.
-
12. Knowify
2.7 stars (2.70588) from 17 App Store ratings. Knowify is job costing and progress billing software for a specialty trade subcontractor, run mostly from a desktop browser. The mobile app has the smallest sample in this set, an order of magnitude below the next smallest. So treat this score as a data point, not a verdict.

How we picked the best reviewed construction estimating app
We read the App Store rating and review count directly from each app’s own live listing on September 9, 2026. The rounded star badge is the one published in each listing page’s structured data. The average to five decimals and the exact rating count come from Apple’s own iTunes Store lookup service for the same app id, read the same day, which is what the badge rounds from. Where a Google Play listing was confirmed for the same business tool, we report its separate rating and count alongside. Those are never blended with the App Store number. Ranking runs on the underlying decimal average first, then on review count as the tiebreaker context, never the reverse. Nothing here is weighted by price, feature set, or trade fit. That is a different ranking, and we run that one separately.
Finally, a Google Play rating appears here only for the three apps whose Play listing we read live on September 9, 2026: SimplyWise Cost Estimator at 4.7 from 15,030 ratings, Jobber at 4.4 from 6,725, and Contractor+ at 4.4 from 669. Every other Google Play cell reads “Not verified live” because this method did not read that listing live, not because the app is missing from Android.

Best reviewed construction estimating app: common questions
Which construction estimating app has the best reviews in 2026?
By raw App Store rating, Contractor+ posts the highest average, 4.8 stars from 1,870 ratings. SimplyWise Cost Estimator ties the visible 4.8 badge on a much larger sample, 33,651 App Store ratings and 15,030 on Google Play. Jobber and Handoff also show 4.8. All four figures were pulled live from each app’s own listing on September 9, 2026.
Best reviewed construction estimating app rating math
Does a higher star rating always mean a better estimating app?
Not by itself. The visible badge rounds to one decimal, and a small sample can swing that decimal fast. Read the review count next to the score before treating two apps’ ratings as comparable. An app with 17 ratings and one with 33,651 can both show a number on the same scale without carrying the same confidence.
Why do some estimating apps show different ratings on iOS and Android?
They are two different populations rating two different codebases, sometimes maintained by different teams. Jobber’s App Store rating and Google Play rating are more than three tenths of a point apart. Check both badges before assuming an app’s rating is the same everywhere it is installed.
Picking a best reviewed construction estimating app by trust, not just the badge
Is a small business tool with only a few hundred ratings trustworthy?
It can be, but weight it accordingly. Contractor Foreman’s 4.3 rests on 547 ratings, and CoConstruct’s 3.0 rests on 222. Both numbers are honest reads of a real, smaller sample. Treat a rating under a few thousand reviews as a useful data point, not a settled verdict. Then look for a growing count over time rather than a single snapshot.
