"Absolutely rude customer service. The lady at the counter at window 1 barked orders at people. Not a “good morning†or “how can I help you†or “have a nice day†will ever be spoken there. I will drive the 15 extra miles to go to the other office if necessary."

"This is the first time ever I have to write a review as this place is just so bad that I can’t even imagine. I went there to apply for my ssn a month ago, however I had not received my card. So, I went back there to ask what is happening and they told me that it seems like they had not issued me one. Like seriously? I have the ssn receipt here, I filled all the forms, and gave you guys all the required documents ONE MONTH ago and right now they tell me that you guys had not processed it? Then the guy who work there told me to fill a new form but I didn’t know abt that so I didn’t have the two letters with me. Therefore, I will have to go back fill the form, prepare all the documents and bring it to them again like whatttt? Can you guys please be more responsible? I live pretty far from the office I have school and work as well and it took me 45 mins to get there and 45 mins more to go back! This is such a waste of time!"

"Not enough parking or employees. You know it's bad when you park next door and there are signs inside the SSA building telling you not to park next door. Brand new building and they obviously know there's not enough space to park. Not enough employees either. I'll come back another time when hopefully there's not a 2 hour wait"

Today, applying for Social Security benefits or a card can usually be handled online or by phone, without
needing to make an appointment at your local Social Security office. We break down the answers to some of the
most frequently asked questions around navigating Social Security from home.
Which Social Security benefits am I eligible for?
Your Social Security income is made up of 3 potential benefits. Your earned benefit, your spousal
benefit and your survivor benefit. The eligibility for each of these benefits depends on a number of
factors including your income, marital status, and length of marriage.
Find out the benefits you are eligible for and what your income with our 2-minute quiz.
For most people applying for benefits, you can apply online or over the phone, and skip going to the office altogether. Use a checklist to ensure you have all the information and documentation you need to apply.
Funeral homes typically handle reporting of a death to the SSA.
However, you will need to provide the funeral home with the deceased’s Social Security number for them to do so. Note that deaths cannot be reported online.
If you want to report the person’s death yourself, call the SSA at 1-800-772-1213 (TTY 1-800-325-0778) between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. Monday through Friday.
