"Service was timely, but was told I didn't need all the documents that I brought in. The same documents that SSA told me over the phone to spend time gathering, and copying. After a month of waiting, I received a packet requesting all the documents I was told I didn't need, and a survey questionnaire to fill out..... This all could have been avoided if the person knew their job, and took my documents (which I had plenty of copies of) from me then and there when I had brought them. They're incompetent, and they WILL mess up your application."

"The usual social security office. For some things you need an appointment, other things just walk in & check in. Sometimes you have to wait but it's usually not bad. Most of the staff is polite, efficient, & at other times they give different answers for the same question. You can always go online first or call the 800 number. This office is better than other social security offices I've had to go to. Check to see what paperwork you need before going there. Most of the time I waited a bit was NOT BECAUSE OF THE WORKER, it was because some people will not accept an answer they don't want. They keep asking the same general questions over & over again. If the staff member tells you the same thing 3 or 4 times, she or he is NOT changing the answer. Google your question & see how that goes. Read articles & literature in SS website. Try to help yourself."
