"There is only one lady at the counter. Understandably I can understand the frustration. A customer was difficult about 6 people ahead of me. After that everyone after had to deal with her nasty rude attitude. You couldn't get a word in. Not very helpful, very dismissive. Most of the people in the office are elderly and definitely don't need to be spoken to as children. Hopefully this is not her everyday attitude. Or at least if she is unable to deal with the public or work load maybe she should ask for help."

"The security guard was way nicer than the employee.... She radiated nasty"

"The worst incompetent employees. Do not go here or you run the risk of getting the wrong ss card in the mail."

"I went to this office a year ago to apply for a name change on my card. I was amazed at how fast it was processed. However, the card never came so I called and they said the card was delivered but I wasn't home so it got sent back. I just left the Middletown office to start the process again. They said there was no record of any application ever filed since 1976! The woman at the Ansonia office took all of my information but never processed it! Messing with people's Social Security and private documentation and then lying about must be a Federal offense, no? \nI will be following up in Washington DC."

"Never ever go to this office if you want to apply for a new Social Security card. It will take forever! Took me 8 weeks after applying just to hear 'your case was not verified with immigration'. They were rude and could not explain what was the reason. I already moved to NY and applied there again - took me 1,5 weeks to get my card in the mail. Very poor service."
