"We got there without appointment , this was for my mom social security , she speaks Spanish only and I speak English and Spanish so we ask for Spanish speaking person , we didn’t Wait long they took us really fast, The social security men was very helpful on everything ! Then we were sent to a specialist after that and She also was helpful , we stayed for less than an hour but that was needed for the issues we had and that was really fast. Got no complains everything went smoothly, I loved it ! \nThank you for your help!"

"I waited 15 minutes on the phone then I was told they don't make appointments. Got there 1:15pm left 2:45pm got my answer in 10 minutes. Bring a book and seat cushions seats made of metal. Windows 1-7 is no privacy people close by can hear you. Guard wants to check your purse or backpack. Small waiting area. "

How do I report a death?

Funeral homes typically handle reporting of a death to the SSA. However, you will need to provide the funeral home with the deceased’s Social Security number for them to do so. Note that deaths cannot be reported online. If you want to report the person’s death yourself, call the SSA at 1-800-772-1213 (TTY 1-800-325-0778) between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. Monday through Friday.
