Window and door estimate app: the short answer

SimplyWise Cost Estimator lets window and door installers photograph each opening and get an itemized material and labor estimate with local prices and their markup. Then they send a professional, branded quote from the job. It costs $29.99 a month or $239.99 a year after a 7-day free trial.

Why it matters: window bids are won by the first clear number. Photograph the openings, price them on the spot, and send the quote before a rival calls back. Use the calculator above for a quick range. Then price your own job from a photo.

How the window job calculator works

Pick a window and an install method. Enter the openings, crew hours for each opening and your crew rate. Add your markup. The calculator multiplies the low and high unit price by the count, adds labor, then applies your markup. Every constant comes from our window installation cost guide.

The unit prices are two named products a size, read at one retailer on September 11, 2026. A 36 by 36 in white vinyl single hung lists at $179.00 and $199.00. A 48 by 48 in slider lists at $259.00 and $282.99.

The default rate, $27.44, is the May 2025 median glazier wage from the Bureau of Labor Statistics. A wage is not a billed rate, so type your own.

The calculator prices windows only. Our cost pages publish no entry or interior door figure, so door pricing comes from the app run on your photo. Bedroom openings also carry an egress rule. Check it before you quote a smaller unit: read our egress window requirements guide.

Price a job with the window and door estimate app in 4 steps

  1. Photograph each opening

Shoot every window and door from inside the room. On a Pro iPhone, a LiDAR room scan can capture the measurements. On other phones, tape the opening and type the size.

  2. Describe the job

Type it or say it. Name insert or full frame, the frame material and the glass package. Material prices come from the closest Home Depot to the zip code registered in your app.

  3. Review the lines and your markup

Window units, labor, trim and fees each get an editable line. Add your markup, then check every line before the client sees it.

  4. Send the quote

Send a professional, branded quote the client signs to approve. Try it on your next opening before you leave the driveway.

What the range leaves out

The calculator prices units and crew time. A real bid needs more lines. Our window guides say these get their own lines:

  • Trim, capping and flashing, often quoted apart from the unit.
  • Disposal of the old windows.
  • Finish: a black exterior costs $120.00 more a unit on the VinylMax single hung we priced.
  • Glass package: Low-E coatings and gas fill change the unit price on their own.

Add each one as its own line in the app, so the client sees what they pay for. A full frame job costs more than an insert because of added trim and disposal labor. See our window replacement cost per window guide for the method split.
