What does a lawn mowing cost calculator show?
A lawn mowing cost calculator should price a lot by its size. Pick a square footage above and it reads against a real lot-size table.
G&G Garden and Lawn Care, a Sarasota, FL company, posts a visit and a monthly price for seven size bands. They run from under 5,000 sq ft up to 11,000 sq ft. Above that, G&G asks for a property visit instead of naming a price.
Where do the calculator's numbers come from?
The table is one company's own posted pricing. It is labeled single-source because this check found no second company posting a comparable size table.
Two other real companies post a starting price but no size table: Ryno Lawn Care starts at $34.26 a visit and GoMow at $39. GoMow quotes off an address calculator and Ryno off a quote request, so they sit here as comparison points.
| Lot size | Price per visit | Monthly rate |
|---|---|---|
| Under 5,000 sq ft | $43 | $129 |
| 5,000 to 6,000 sq ft | $44 | $133 |
| 6,000 to 7,000 sq ft | $46 | $138 |
| 7,000 to 8,000 sq ft | $47 | $142 |
| 8,000 to 9,000 sq ft | $49 | $147 |
| 9,000 to 10,000 sq ft | $50 | $151 |
| 10,000 to 11,000 sq ft | $52 | $156 |
| Over 11,000 sq ft | Estimator visit required | No posted rate |
G&G's own table, captured September 26, 2026. The company bills the same price all year, so a heavy-growth month costs no more.
Why does an overgrown lawn cost more on the first cut?
G&G's page states an overgrown lawn can take the crew 2 to 3 times longer on its first mowing. It says the initial cut costs extra.
G&G posts no dollar figure. The toggle scales the visit price by that time range as an estimate: 2 times low, 3 times high. GoMow's page carries the same idea, noting tall lawns may carry an added fee.

What lawn mowing add-ons are not in the base price?
Flower bed maintenance is not included in Ryno Lawn Care's mowing program, per its own pricing page. G&G quotes flower bed services on a property visit. It says an odd-shaped lot with beds takes longer to mow, and that the amount of edging affects the price.
A fenced backyard blocks G&G's larger equipment too. None of it carries a published dollar figure, so the toggles above state the factor rather than pricing it.
Why does the per-visit price sit above the wage a mower earns?
Landscaping and Groundskeeping Workers earn a $20.33 mean hourly wage nationally (BLS OEWS, May 2025). A $43 to $52 visit also pays for drive time, fuel, equipment, insurance, and margin.
How do you use these numbers to price your own mowing jobs?
-
Match your lot to a real posted tier
Use G&G's table as a floor. A larger lot or heavy shade pushes a fair price above the tier shown.
-
Flag an overgrown first cut before you quote it
Decide the 2 to 3 times range before you stand in the yard, not on the call.
-
Price flower beds and edging as their own line
Neither G&G nor Ryno folds bed work into the base rate. Set your own price and hold it.
-
Send an itemized quote, not a verbal number
A written estimate with the lot size, condition, and add-ons keeps the price honest.

Frequently asked questions about the lawn mowing cost calculator
The price
How much does a lawn mowing cost calculator say a mow should cost?
Between $43 and $52 a visit by lot size, under 5,000 sq ft up to 11,000 sq ft, per G&G Garden and Lawn Care's posted table, captured September 26, 2026. Above 11,000 sq ft G&G requires a property visit rather than naming a price.
The tiers
Why does the calculator use only one company's size table?
This check found no second real, non-aggregator company posting a comparable lot-size table, so it ships single-source and labeled as such. Ryno Lawn Care and GoMow post starting rates, $34.26 a visit and $39, shown here as a separate comparison, not blended into the tier.
The math
Why is the per-visit price so much higher than what a mower earns?
Landscaping and Groundskeeping Workers earn a $20.33 mean and $18.82 median hourly wage nationally (BLS OEWS, May 2025). A $43 to $52 visit price covers the whole stop: drive time, fuel, equipment, insurance, and margin.
