# How do I recover deleted items?

If you’ve deleted an item by mistake, don’t worry! That document isn’t gone forever. Instead, it’s being stored in your “Recently Deleted” section.

To access your recently deleted items, just open your SimplyWise app to your Home screen and then open the sidebar menu by tapping on the three horizontal lines icon in the upper left corner.

Once you’ve opened that menu, you’ll notice your Recently Deleted section is listed as a heading about halfway down. Tap on this and you’ll be able to swipe to permanently delete your receipts or restore them to your folders!
